  1. 1973. First oil embargo.
  2. 1975. The US Congress decided to create a strategic oil reserve in the country in order to reduce the dependence of the economy on export oil in the future.
  3. 1981. OPEC countries have reduced oil production by about a quarter compared to 1978. Oil prices have doubled.
  4. 1982. OPEC countries set oil production quotas for the first time.
  5. 1986-1987. “Tanker war” between Iraq and Iran.
  6. 1993. For the first time in history, the US imported more oil than it produced.
  7. 1997. Toyota created the first mass-produced car powered by gasoline and electricity – the Prius.
  8. 1999. Merger of major French oil companies: Total Fina and Elf Aquitaine.
  9. 2004. Oil prices reached a record, exceeding $40 per barrel.

Today, the means of cleaning water bodies and territories from oil and oil products are very popular and will change around the world.
