ECONAD ORCA Marine Security Booms are heavy-duty floating barriers designed to protect ports, harbours, naval facilities, critical maritime infrastructure and restricted water areas from unauthorised vessel access and other waterborne threats.
The ORCA 770, ORCA 915 and ORCA 1200 models combine a high-strength steel structure with durable foam-filled polyethylene floats, providing reliable buoyancy, structural strength and stable performance in demanding marine environments.
Depending on the required level of protection, the system can be equipped with additional security elements, including anti-intrusion spikes, above-water fencing, underwater nets, navigation lights, alarm systems and access gates.

Robust Modular Construction

Each ORCA security boom module is engineered for strength, buoyancy and long-term operation in marine environments.

  • Reinforced Steel Structure – A heavy-duty steel structure provides the mechanical strength required to withstand significant operational and tensile loads.
  • Foam-Filled Floats – Durable polyethylene floats provide stable buoyancy. The foam-filled construction helps the barrier remain afloat even in the event of local damage to the outer shell.
  • Anti-Intrusion Protection – Depending on the configuration, the system can be equipped with steel security elements, spikes and fencing to increase resistance to unauthorised crossing.
  • Heavy-Duty Connections – Individual modules are connected using high-strength shackles, swivels, steel cables and other marine-grade connection components selected according to project requirements.

The connection system allows the barrier to respond to waves, currents and changes in water level while maintaining structural integrity.

Modular Security System

The modular design allows the barrier length and configuration to be adapted to each project.
Individual modules can be assembled into short protective sections or extended security lines covering large port, harbour and coastal areas.
The system can be connected to piles, dolphins, quay structures, shore-based anchoring points or dedicated mooring systems.
Access gates can also be incorporated where regular vessel passage is required.
