Demarcation booms

Products Description

ECONAD demarcation booms are floating barrier systems designed to mark, separate, and protect selected areas on the water surface. They can be used to create visible boundaries, restrict access, guide floating materials, and support safety in marine, river, lake, reservoir, and industrial water environments.

The barriers are equipped with a special steel axle that helps distribute loads along the entire boom system. The boom has a draft of approximately 50 to 125 mm, which means that up to 87% of the barrier remains visible above the waterline.

The outer shell of the boom is made from high-quality UV-resistant polyethylene. This material provides strength, durability, impact resistance, and long service life in outdoor and marine conditions.

The main axle of each ECONAD-FENCE boom is manufactured from welded stainless steel or galvanised steel for corrosion resistance. The type of steel is selected depending on the operating environment and project requirements.

Other metal components are also made from galvanised or stainless steel. The floats are connected with heavy-duty ties or bolted fasteners designed for demanding operating conditions.

Boom sections are connected to each other using galvanised or stainless steel chains with a diameter of at least 8 mm, depending on the boom model, together with heavy-duty carabiners or connecting elements.

Upon request, each ECONAD-FENCE section can be filled with polyurethane foam for additional buoyancy and safety. This option is available for booms with a diameter of 400 mm or more.

Special protective screens, trash screens, or debris screens can also be installed below or above the waterline, depending on the application. Additional accessories, including reflective marine tape, anchors, and hauling equipment, are available upon request.

ECONAD demarcation booms are designed for:

  • marking restricted or controlled water areas;
  • separating safe and unsafe zones on the water;
  • protecting people, vessels, and infrastructure;
  • intercepting floating debris, plastic waste, vegetation, and other floating materials;
  • improving safety near dams, hydropower plants, water intakes, marinas, ports, and industrial water areas;
  • creating visible floating boundaries for navigation and operational control;
  • supporting environmental protection and water surface management.

ECONAD demarcation booms can be used in:

  • dams and hydropower facilities;
  • reservoirs, lakes, rivers, and canals;
  • ports, harbours, marinas, and shipyards;
  • water intakes and industrial water systems;
  • recreational water areas and beaches;
  • construction zones on water;
  • protected environmental areas;
  • fish farms and aquaculture facilities;
  • municipal and industrial water management projects.

Demarcation booms can be used to intercept and control different types of floating debris, including:

  • wooden debris, branches, sticks, logs, and leaves;
  • floating bottles, plastic waste, and other solid waste;
  • aquatic vegetation, water hyacinth, algae, eelgrass, and similar materials;
  • ice, slush, and other seasonal floating materials.

By guiding and holding floating debris in a controlled area, the booms make collection, removal, and disposal easier and more efficient.

  • durable UV-resistant polyethylene shell;
  • corrosion-resistant stainless or galvanised steel axle;
  • high visibility above the waterline;
  • stable floating position;
  • modular design for different project lengths;
  • optional polyurethane foam filling;
  • suitable for debris, waste, vegetation, and public safety applications;
  • available with additional protective or trash screens;
  • can be equipped with reflective marine tape, anchors, and hauling accessories;
  • suitable for long-term outdoor and marine use.

Dam Safety and Public Protection

ECONAD demarcation booms are suitable for improving safety near dams, water intakes, spillways, hydropower plants, and other hydraulic structures.

They can be used as:

  • public safety barriers;
  • waste interception barriers;
  • intake protection barriers;
  • visible warning lines;
  • floating access restriction systems;
  • night-visible barriers with optional illumination or reflective marking.

These systems help prevent people, small vessels, debris, and floating objects from entering hazardous or restricted areas.

– 300 mm in diameter and 700 mm in length,
– 400 mm in diameter and 700 mm in length,
– 600 mm in diameter and 1000 mm in length,
– 900 mm in diameter and 1200 mm in length.

Why Choose ECONAD Demarcation Booms

ECONAD demarcation booms provide a reliable and visible solution for marking, separating, and protecting water areas.

They are suitable for safety, environmental protection, debris control, and operational management in different marine and inland water environments. Their durable construction, modular design, and optional accessories allow the system to be adapted to a wide range of applications, from dam safety and water intake protection to floating waste control and restricted area demarcation.
